Worker I defined to myself a manual task from the world of maintenance: painting a long railing by winding yellow wool around it. This action, which was carried out for many hours in a busy environment, offered me time of reflection. I carried on my back the wool I needed and I went on working. On my hands I wore red stickers, echoing other performances. These stickers also served as means of communication between the audience and me. Whoever approached me got a sticker, in addition to an answer or instead of it. It was not glamorous; I sat on window boxes brimming with plastic plants, cigarettes butts and old chewing gum, and preformed the task.
