Triton Musing on the passage between the land of the living and the land of the dead gave birth to the image of transformation into an amphibious being, and called for further investigation of covering the exposed body, and of branding social or physical deviation. Using a blue marker of the type favored by children I drew scales on my body, from the feet up, within a given time frame of two hours. The action took place in a vacant shop and the audience could choose whether to stand behind the display window or enter the shop where I was. When I believed in what I was doing, so did the audience. When I felt despair and emptiness, the audience simply left. View video
